Open Cap World — opencap.world. Last updated 20 September 2026.
The short version. There is no account, no sign-in and no profile. The game keeps your settings and scores on your own device. The only thing it sends us is your country and two numbers, with nothing attached that could point back at you. If you choose to watch an ad to unlock a theme, Google is involved at that point and does its own tracking — that part is described below, and nothing in the game requires you to go there.
What stays on your device
Saved in your browser's local storage, readable only by this site, and gone if you clear your browsing data:
- Your language, whether sound is muted, and whether the hint card is folded
- Your best score and your lifetime Freshness
- Which themes you have unlocked
- Freshness you earned while offline, waiting to be sent
None of this is transmitted to us and none of it is used to recognise you.
What we receive
When a run ends, the game sends one message containing four things: a two-letter country code, the number of bottles opened, the Freshness earned, and how many milliseconds it took. That message carries no identifier — no account, no cookie, no device id, no advertising id.
We store one row per country: the country code, a running total and the time it last changed. That is the entire database. There is no table of players, no table of runs and no request log, so there is nothing in it that could be traced back to a person — not as a matter of policy, but because the leaderboard genuinely does not need any of it to work.
How your country is worked out
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, tells the server which country the request came from. Your IP address reaches Cloudflare in the ordinary course of loading any web page, and Cloudflare processes it under their privacy policy — we neither store it nor log it. If Cloudflare cannot determine a country, the game falls back to your browser's language setting.
Advertising
Some themes can be unlocked by watching a rewarded ad. Those ads are served by Google (AdSense / H5 Games Ads).
Google's ad code is not loaded when you open the game. It is fetched only when you open the theme screen, which is the point at which you are heading towards an ad. Until then no request reaches Google at all.
Once loaded, Google may set cookies or read similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalised ones. What Google collects and why is covered by How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage personalised advertising at My Ad Center.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a Google consent message will ask you before any of this happens, and your answer is passed to Google and its advertising partners.
Not every theme needs one. Themes are cosmetic and change nothing about how the game plays or scores. Some are unlocked by watching an ad; others are unlocked by playing — by opening a number of bottles, or by finding something — and those routes involve Google not at all. Each locked theme says which of the two it is.
Children
This game is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children — and, since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing held about a child to delete.
Your choices
- Clear everything we hold on your device: clear site data for opencap.world in your browser. Scores, themes and settings all go.
- Avoid Google entirely: do not open the theme screen. The game is complete without it, and the themes that unlock through play stay available.
- Your country's total: Freshness added to a country cannot be withdrawn, because nothing records that it was yours — it is a single shared number, not a list of contributions.
Changes
If this ever describes something different from what the game does, the game is the bug. The date at the top says when this was last revised.
